The Blue Devil was first spotted during the Winter of 1939 in Webster County. Locals had begun to report seeing a massive creature prowling around at night. The creature was described as a bluish dog-like beast with glowing eyes and a terrifying howl. Locals blamed the Blue Devil for killing cattle, sheep, and a prized hunting dog. Soon word of the Blue Devil and paranoia spread into neighboring Randolph County where locals offered $400 to anyone who could capture or kill the Blue Devil.
